J.P. Shadrick joined the Oklahoma City RedHawks prior to the 2011 season as Director of Media Relations and Broadcasting. He serves as the “Voice of the RedHawks,” broadcasting all 144 regular season games on AM 1340 “The Game” in Oklahoma City and online at www.1340thegame.com.
Shadrick previously spent five seasons (2006-2010) with the Jacksonville Suns of the Double-A Southern League, broadcasting two Southern League Championships, three postseason appearances and four 80-win seasons. Shadrick was named the 2008 Southern League Broadcaster of the Year after a vote of League broadcasters and general managers while also being named a finalist for Ballpark Digest’s Minor League Broadcaster of the Year award.
His other baseball experience includes work with the Sioux Falls Canaries of the Northern League, the Salem Avalanche of the Carolina League and Wilson Tobs of the Coastal Plain League.
Shadrick was born in Mobile, Ala., and raised in Trussville, Ala. He is a 2004 graduate of the University of Alabama and lives in downtown Oklahoma City.
